Start with what your cat's coat is actually like. Breed can provide clues, but coat length, density and texture are often more useful when deciding what applies to your cat.

Choose the description that most closely matches the coat you can see and feel. You do not need to know your cat's breed.

A relatively short coat that lies close to the body and does not form long feathering.
Look for
- Short hair across most of the body
- Little or no long feathering
- Coat generally lies close to the body
