Start with what your cat's coat is actually like. Breed can provide clues, but coat length, density and texture are often more useful when deciding what applies to your cat.

Choose the description that most closely matches the coat you can see and feel. You do not need to know your cat's breed.

Longer hair that may be more prone to tangling, matting or collecting loose coat.
Look for
- Longer hair across the body
- Feathering around the tail, chest or legs
- Areas where tangles may form more easily
