Start with what your cat's coat is actually like. Breed can provide clues, but coat length, density and texture are often more useful when deciding what applies to your cat.

Choose the description that most closely matches the coat you can see and feel. You do not need to know your cat's breed.

Dense or plush coat
A thick coat that can feel dense or plush even when the individual hairs are not especially long.
Look for
- Dense coat close to the skin
- Plush or thick texture
- Loose hair may remain within the coat
