Report an issue
If something in a guide looks wrong, unclear, outdated or unsafe, we want to know.
Reader reports help us identify information that may need checking, clarification or correction.
What you can report
You do not need to be certain that something is wrong. If a statement raises a reasonable concern, send it to us and we can review it.
Factual error
A statement appears incorrect, unsupported or inconsistent with a cited source.
Outdated guidance
A recommendation, practice, product detail or professional guideline may no longer be current.
Unclear or misleading wording
A passage could reasonably be misunderstood or gives more certainty than the evidence supports.
Species or context mismatch
Guidance appears to have been applied to the wrong species, breed, crossbreed, life stage, coat type or other relevant context.
Broken or unsuitable source
A reference is unavailable, incorrectly linked, does not support the claim, or should be replaced with a more appropriate source.
Potential safety concern
Something in a guide could lead to inappropriate care, delay professional help or create an avoidable risk for an animal.
Commercial or disclosure concern
A commercial relationship, affiliate link or product reference appears unclear or could affect how independent the guidance is understood to be.
What to include
Providing a little context makes it easier for us to identify and review the issue.
- The title or URL of the guide.
- The sentence, section or recommendation you are concerned about.
- Why you think it may be inaccurate, unclear, outdated or unsafe.
- A source or reference, if you have one. This is helpful but not required.
What happens after a report
A report does not automatically mean the published guidance is wrong. We review the concern against the relevant content, sources and context.
Where a material error, ambiguity or outdated statement is confirmed, the guide can be corrected or updated and its review date updated accordingly.
Where the available information remains uncertain, the better response may be to make that uncertainty clearer rather than present one position as settled.
We do not alter guidance simply because a commercial party disagrees with an editorial conclusion.
Send us the issue
Use our contact page and tell us which guide you are reporting. Include as much of the information above as you can.
This page is not for urgent veterinary help
If an animal is unwell, injured, in significant pain, deteriorating rapidly or may need urgent attention, do not wait for a response to a website report. Contact an appropriate veterinary professional.
